Unraveling the Science of Pheromones: The invisible Language of Attraction
20 March 2024Motherhood is a journey filled with boundless love, joy and challenges. From taking care of little ones to managing the myriad responsibilities of daily life, mothers navigate a complex web of emotions and tasks with grace and resilience (the odd yell and tantrum in between). We lose touch with ourselves and partners in the rush of juggling. We are hardly ever in the mood, we fall into the
trap of low self-esteem and sensuality goes right out the window!
Yet, amidst the chaos and demands, there exists a subtle ally that often goes unnoticed and one that many of us don’t even know about, pheromones. How do pheromones work, what do they do and how can they impact your life? Can it be possible that you can get that spark back? (Yes honey, this isn’t the life you have to keep on living).
What if I told you that there was a little bottle of magic that could help with a mood ‘pick me up’, a boost of self-confidence and adding a tickle of sensuality back into your life? We get so caught up in the monotony of kids, life, eat, sleep, work, running around, that we forget about was keeps our soul alive and what keeps that spark going.
Firstly… What The Heck (as my daughter would say), are PHEROMONES?
VeryWell Health defines them as: “chemicals that communicate signals between animals of the same species” (2023)
Healthline says: “pheromones are chemical substances that are secreted outside of the body in fluids like urine and sweat. – Essentially, pheromones are a hidden form of communication.” (2022)
They are basically chemicals that we as beings* produce to communicate with other beings* of the same species. bla bla bla…
Typically emitted through sweat, urine and other bodily fluids (gross man!).
Here is an interesting fact (for two), they play a role in social and reproductive behaviours. In humans, pheromones are believed to influence attraction, mood and social interactions – subtly and through the subconscious.
Ok fine – tell me more!
1. Mood Enhancement
Life is a rollercoaster of emotions, with highs of joy and lows of exhaustion. We slowly fall into the trap of losing our ‘mood’, be it for ourselves in the form of self-care, your kids, or you partner. Pheromones can act as natural mood enhancers; you know we all need a little pick me up every now and then, and affect your mood by triggering the release of neurotransmitters in the brain (yes I’m
using big words). Males experience increased arousal and happiness; women experience positive mood and feelings of relaxation. They influence our emotional state.
2. Confidence Boost
Pheromones have the potential to enhance confidence, bolstering your self-assurance, with yourself in your interactions with others. The subtle signals emitted by women (and men) can convey a sense of authority and competence, commanding respect and cooperation. A sense of dominance and attractiveness (well hello there sexy!). It might be the boost you need to hold that meeting, host
an event or show up for that date night.
3. Finding your Sensuality
Perhaps the most widely studied aspect of pheromones is their role in attraction and sensuality. They play a role in mate selection, from igniting sparks of interest to deepening emotional connections. As mothers, we often loose our sensuality and loose that connection with our partners as we get caught up in the circus of life. Well, what if those got those ambers burning again? Perhaps a little drop of magic could tickle your sensuality back to life. Ladies, it’s time to get flirting again! In the intricate tapestry of motherhood and human interaction, pheromones serve as silent allies, subtly influencing our mood, confidence, and sensuality. From nurturing maternal bonds,
commanding respect and embracing femininity, to connecting on a deeper level with yourself and with others, these subtle chemical signals play a profound role in shaping our emotional and social experiences. It is possible that a little bottle of magic can give you a pick me up for your day, the confidence to take on any challenge and the edge to find your sensuality.
